ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AGENCY'S 33/50 PROGRAM CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION:
The United States Environmental Protection Agency presented to Green Bay
Packaging Inc. a Certificate of Appreciation acknowledging the corporation's
commitment to the Agency's 33/50 Program initiative to voluntarily reduce
emissions of certain hazardous air pollutants and to foster pollution
prevention throughout its various facilities.
OZONE DEPLETING
SUBSTANCES:
Environmental Protection Agency rules requiring the labeling of products that
contain or are manufactured with Class I ozone depleting substances went into
effect May 15, 1993. In order to proactively respond to these rules, Green Bay
Packaging, beginning in mid 1992, evaluated all raw materials that were
incorporated into its finished products, for not only Class I but also Class II
ODS compounds. All respective vendors and suppliers were formally advised that
Green Bay Packaging would not accept any raw materials containing or
manufactured with either Class I or Class II ozone depleting substances. Class
II compounds are to be regulated no later than January 1, 2015. All products
identified as containing such were eliminated from use.
