WATER-BASED COATINGS:
The Green Bay and De Pere Shipping Container Divisions, working closely with
their respective vendors, were able to develop a product substitution for the
water based anti-skid coatings that they had employed previously in the
manufacture of corrugated shipping containers. This permanent substitution was
effected in 1994 and resulted in a notable reduction of VOCs annually from each
facility, approximately 0.6 tons (8.9%) for the Green Bay Shipping Container
Division and 1.9 tons (22.5%) for the De Pere Shipping Container Division.
Research is continuing to determine possible additional product substitutions.
