CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 CHEMICAL ELIMINATION:
CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65
CHEMICAL ELIMINATION:
A formal program was established at each division in July of 1989, to monitor
the presence of any California Proposition 65 chemicals (Safe Drinking Water
and Toxic Enforcement Act) in materials utilized throughout the various
manufacturing processes and incorporated into finished products
(containerboard, corrugated shipping containers, and pressure sensitive
laminations). Quarterly, all raw materials, chemical formulations and products,
are reviewed in respect to the 572 chemical compounds regulated by the state of
California. No raw materials, chemical formulations and/or products are
permitted to be purchased if they contain a regulated substance, which exceeds
its level for "no significant risk," or contains a regulated
substance that has not been assigned a respective risk level.
