FOR ENERGY PRODUCTION:
In 1969, the Arkansas Kraft Division mill installed a wood waste fueled boiler
to address a solid waste disposal problem created by the accumulation of bark
from the mill wood handling system, as well as from some sawmill operations in
the area. Subsequent needs for additional steaming capacity and the inherent
disposal needs of other lumber producing operations in the vicinity of the mill
prompted the addition of a second wood waste boiler in 1984.
