HAZARDOUS WASTE REDUCTION
AND RECYCLING POLICY:
In May of 1989, Green Bay Packaging Inc. instituted a formal "Hazardous
Waste Reduction and Recycling Policy" at all of its divisions. This policy
set forth-specific guidelines that required the reduction, minimization, and/or
elimination of hazardous waste generated through the implementation of
deliberate and conscientious purchasing, inventory, and manufacturing practices
and/or procedures.
RECYCLING OF NEWSPAPERS:
Green Bay Packaging, in 1989 introduced a new line of containers that included
recycled fiber from newspapers. This line called Eco-Brite, offered the
consumer an opportunity to maintain the utility of the traditional corrugated
container while simultaneously helping solve some of the post consumer
newsprint oversupply in this country.
