AFPA AWARD FOR ENERGY
MANAGEMENT AND INNOVATION:
The Arkansas Kraft Division of Green Bay Packaging Inc. received the American Forest and Paper Association's first place award for Energy Management and
Innovation for the utilization of a method to gasify wood waste as a fuel
source for steam energy production. This process diverts the landfilling of
over 300,000 tons of wood waste annually saving significant landfill volume. In
addition, this process significantly reduces the use of non-replenishable
natural gas.
