Sustainability
Green Bay Packaging has
proactively implemented the sustainable forestry principles found in the
Sustainable Forestry Initiative. All pulp for containerboard manufacturing
operations at the Arkansas Mill is derived from recycled paper and U.S. timberland sources, with no fiber from rain forests or old growth forests. The
containerboard from the Green Bay mill is manufactured from 100% recycled
paper.
Green Bay Packaging is also
an active member of the American Forest and Paper Association and American Tree
Farm Association. The Fiber Resources Division actively promotes the practice
of sustainable forestry beyond the company's own forests with private land
owners through a landowner's assistance program. With these memberships and
activities, Green Bay Packaging Inc. demonstrates its commitment to
environmentally responsible forestland management and sustainable forestry.
